When Dr. Bertina M. Hooks began writing her memoir, From Fire to Freedom, she realized that the themes of her journey—navigating burnout, questioning identity, and finding ultimate clarity—were not uniquely hers. They are universal touchstones of the human experience.

This realization inspired the creation of the Phoenix Voices Anthology Series. We are currently curating a collection of powerful narratives that explore these profound themes from diverse perspectives. How do we rebuild our identity when the career we defined ourselves by leads to burnout? How do we find clarity in the midst of overwhelming chaos?
